The DGBFF Day Program is essentially a traveling ice house village. Consisting of 6-8 ice houses on any given day, our participants simply have to sign up and show up and enjoy the experience. The ice houses will be warm, the holes will be drilled, the gear/bait provided, and the lake scouted. All you have to do is reel in the fish.
Participants under the age of 14 need to be accompanied by an adult for the day program.
What to Expect
The first thing to do when arriving to the day program is check in at the registration table. From there one of the Big Fish and Fry staff will take you on the lake to a fish house that is already set up. Our staff will explain the strategies being used, and assist to get everything set up. And then it’s time to catch some fish!
Some of the things you will experience…
- Catching fish on poles
- Catching fish on tip ups
- Viewing fish on underwater cameras
- Learning how to use fish finding sonar equipment
- Learning to set up a portable ice house, drill holes, set up heater
- Watching Scotty the Diver scuba dive underneath the ice
What to Bring
While you are more than welcome to bring any of your own ice fishing gear, we will provide everything needed. However, it can get cold walking to and from the houses. This means the only thing you need to remember is to dress super warm! Don’t forget these key items:
- Warm Socks
